TINA BRITT
BIOGRAPHY
Tina Britt (Marion Loretta Brittingham) was born July 5th, 1938 to Verna Brittingham and Samuel L. Bullock in BellTown, Delaware. As a child, Tina was raised in Jacksonville, Florida with her father, then moved to New York City
in her late teens. At the age of 19, Tina met Juggy Murray, founder of Sue Records and signed with his label and it's subsidiaries (Eastern, Veep Records.) Miss Britt began a series of recordings from 1963 to 1970 that would produce a number of hits, including "The Real Thing," "Who Was That," "Sookie Sookie," "Key To The Highway" and "Hawg For You." In 1969, Tina Britt released "Blue All The Way" on Minit Records, compiling her previous hit recordings along with new singles, including her phenomenal recordings of "Dr. FeelGood" and "God Bless the Child." Tina Britt left the recording business in 1970, then moved to Philadelphia to raised her two sons. Her youngest son became a musician, saying to him as a child that she'd return to the business when he'd be old enough to "Have her back." Years later,
Miss Britt is proud to present her new hit single, "Play It Back," written and produced by Miss Britt and her son and released under the family label, "FunkLab Records!"
Miss Britt is in the studio right now recording more hit songs, as well as working on the title track for the upcoming movie, "The Gates Of Heaven." Stay tuned for more great music from the legendary artist, Miss Tina Britt!
